The Duke of Edinburgh's (DofE) Award Scheme is the world's leading achievement award for young adults, and is highly regarded by colleges and employers. It encourages young adults to be confident, resilient and independent, and to develop commitment, leadership and teamwork through being involved in a personalised programme of activities. All students must volunteer their time, take part in a physical activity, learn a new skill as well as take part in a practice expedition and a qualifying expedition. Depending which award is being undertaken, Bronze, Silver or Gold, will depend how long it will take to complete the award. All three awards can be completed in a year.

DofE is an excellent opportunity for students at LifeBridge ASEND. Some students may just be starting their DofE journey whilst others may be moving on to the next stage of the award scheme and looking to complete their Silver or Gold award.
The DofE Award Scheme is not 'taught', the students need to be motivated. We will train and support them for their expedition. To find out more about the award on the internet, go to www.dofe.org/what-is-dofe.
